3  Fosters student engagement with content.  Provides alternative assignmentsalternative assignments  Alternative method of assessing knowledge.  Provides students with 21 st century skills.

4 In this context, a Mashup is a digital media file containing any or all of  Text  Graphics  Audio  Video and animation drawn from pre-existing sources, to create a new derivative work.

5  Create a video mash-up (maximum length: 4 minutes) that speaks to ANY ISSUE that is impacting our world today.  Contest entries will be judged by a panel of faculty and staff next month.

7  Lab in BCCC Library will support the creation of Multimedia projects.  Technical skill development utilizing editing software tools - Windows Movie Maker.  Storyboarding and organization skill development.  Properly crediting existing work that is incorporated within the derivative work. (Citation!)
