1. 3  For my Presentation I’m going to tell you about French modern music. I wasn’t sure how I’d do it so I decided to base it on this weeks French music charts and give a bit of information about the artists and bands. Esperons que vous apprecierez ce!

4. Christophe Mae  Christophe Mae is a French singer who is best known for his songs Ca marche and Et vice Versailles. Christophe has also played the part of Monsieur in the musical Le Roi Soleil since 2005.  He was born on October 16 th, 1975 and grew up in the French area of Carpentras. When Christophe was six he had learnt to play the violin and by the age of 16 he could also play the harmonica and it was at that point he realized he wanted to become a musician.  Since then he’s won awards such as:  2007 : French revelation of the year  2008 : French male artist of the year and French song of the year for On s’attache  2009 : French male artist of the year and French song of the year for Belle demoiselle

5. Edward Maya Ft. Vika Jigualina  Edward Adrian Llie also known as Edward Maya was born on the 29 th June 1986. He started his music career at the age of 19 when he composed a song with Eduard Cartcota for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 which went to fourth place. Then in the summer of 2009 he launched his first song Stereo Love.  Vika Jigulina is a music producer, DJ, she is vocal and even a artist. Vika became famous for her recent album with Edward Maya, Stereo Love which has made her very famous and well known.

6. Les Enfoires  Les Enfoires is the name that was given to the singers and performers in the yearly charity concert for the Restaurants du Coeur. On January 26, 1986 the French humorist Coloche, who had set up Les Restos Du Coeur a few months eariler, invited a number of artists and public figures to appear on tv as a promotional move. Since then the concert as been a yearly thing bringing together 40 different artists and performers from various backgrounds. The funds raised by the concerts and derived records are under the name “Enfoires”.  One of the key features of Les Enfoires is “La Chanson des Enfoires” a song which is now sort of a hymn to the charity.

7. Stromae  Paul van Haver, also known as Stromae (stromaj) was born on March 12 th 1985. He is a singer and song writer of Belgian- Rwandan origin. He’s known for both his hip-hop and electronic style of music. At the age of 12 he’d already showed an interest in music and attended I’Academie Musicale De Jette where he was taught both the drums and about music history.  In the year 2000 he appeared as a rapper called Opmaestro, though later he changed his name to Stromae. When he was 18, he founded a rap group called Suspicion and that was then he became a success.
