TALENT 21 ACID RAIN EXPERIMENT Your Name: Nicolette Hernandez Group Members: Gabby Ade, Grant Myers, and Dylan Horsey Period: 4

ASK A QUESTION During this lab we…(explain what your group did) During this lab we added 20 ml of water each day for 2 weeks watching our plant, to see if it would grow. What we wanted to find out…(what was the main question for this lab?) What we wanted to find out was would a sunflower seed grow more and faster with acid rain, or regular water.

CONTROL VS. VARIABLE STATE YOUR HYPOTHESIS In this slide you are to write whether your group was a control group or an experimental group. My group was Control. State your hypothesis (I hypothesize…My hypothesis…) My hypothesis is I think that the growth of the sunflower will grow rapidly with sunlight, water and oxygen.

DATA INTERPRETATION What happened during your experiment? Think about: What could have affected your data (amount/type of water, sunlight, seed, etc). During our experiment the water had no chemicals and didn’t affect the plants growth. Explain your graph-Give a three to five sentence explanation of your data. My graph shows the difference between the plant with and without water. My plant was measured in grams each day, and 20 ml of water was added.

STATE YOUR CONCLUSION My hypothesis that stated…was (correct/incorrect). Why do you think this happened? My hypothesis that stated I thought the sunflower seed would grow rapidly with sunlight, water and oxygen was incorrect. I think it was incorrect because water is normal, but acid rain is like a chemical combined. What was something you learned from this experiment? Something I learned from this experiment was acid rain can have a stronger impact than regular water, when it comes to growth. How would you alter this experiment for future use? In the future when planting sunflower seeds I can give it more sunlight, I can also try with acid rain.
