Templeton’s Rotten Egg Soup Recipe: 4 cups chicken broth, divided
Templeton’s Rotten Egg Soup Recipe: 4 cups chicken broth, divided
1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 rotten eggs
1 fresh egg yolk Directions Reserve 3/4 cup of chicken broth, and pour the rest into a large saucepan. Stir the salt, ginger and chives into the saucepan, and bring to a rolling boil. In a cup or small bowl, stir together the remaining broth and cornstarch until smooth. Set aside. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs and egg yolk together using a fork. Drizzle egg a little at a time from the fork into the boiling broth mixture. Egg should cook immediately. Once the eggs have been dropped, stir in the cornstarch mixture gradually until the soup is the desired consistency.

Soup Recipe End Note: I chose to include this recipe because it is a fun use of the story Charlotte’s Web in which Templeton the rat has a rotten egg. This is a comical part of the story, therefore the recipe is comical as well because nobody would ever actually make a rotten egg recipe. It does a good job of showing White’s humor. Wilbur’s Diary Today’s Title: Some Pig Dear Diary, Toady Charlotte made a web and in it had the words some pig in it. She did it to save me from being turned into bacon….for now at least! I think she must really like me if she thinks I am “some pig”. I really like her too. I think we might be best friends. Well time for bed. Love, Wilbur.

Wilbur’s Diary end note: We included this to show the child-like nature of Wilbur and that he is always looking for things like new friends and companionship. This shows the beginning of Wilbur and Charlottes relationship. White does a really good job of beginning the relationship with a very easy-go-lucky/ childish attitude and ending it more seriously. Swan’s Trumpet End Note: The trumpet of the swan is all about a swan named Louis who cant make sound like the other swans. He has to learn to use a real trumpet to make noise. The e-bay piece we put together is a fun way of telling about the trumpet and its story. Sources:
