2. Welcome to First Grade!  You are in room 104  Take a look around our the classroom and learn where your name and hook are located.  Find your desk and follow the ORIENTATION DIRECTIONS

3. 1 st Homework Assignment  I am so excited for you to create your “Book Box.” Check out mine in the back-it’s pink (my favorite color).  It’s due by Open House.  Directions to go home Monday!

4. All About Me MMy interests II love to read, run, go to the beach, and spend time with my family! MMy background II grew up on Long Island, NY II attended Penn State University and Hofstra University II have a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Psychology II have a Master’s degree in Special Education  I am almost done with my 2 nd Master’s in Educational Leadership!

5. My Family  My husband  Mr. Sam Garcia  My children  son, Connor-13  daughter, Mary-8  My pets  Magnolia-dog  Holly-dog  Lilly-cat This was during our family cruise this summer with my parents and sister too!

6. Class Subjects  The subjects we cover during first grade are:  Reading  Writing  Math  Computers  Core Knowledge  Science  Social studies

7. Classroom Community  Our classroom is a community. In our community, we have rules to help us get along with each other.  Our class rules are:  Be respectful and responsible.  Use kind words and gestures.  Raise your hand in class.  Be prepared and on time for school.  Keep your hands, feet, and other objects to yourself.  Use a quiet whisper voice when working in centers or at your seat.
