IBL cooling operation at bake-out IBL CO2 meeting 10 April 2014 Bart Verlaat, Lukasz Zwalinski, Maciej Ostrega, Olivier Crespo Lopez 1
2
Special operation for bake out To have a guaranteed cooling during bake out a special procedure is in place: –Both systems in parallel If 1 fails we interlock the bake-out –Safe cooling down at half the flow from the 2 nd system If both systems fail a bottle is emptied through the transfer line to have cooling for an extended time. –Operation at a temperature set point of -20’C 2

Blow system summary A failure of both system cause automatically a blow system activation. –Safe against: cooling system failure by interlocks –Power loss, blow system is activated in fail safe condition meaning valves will be opened Parts have been ordered from SR1 foreseen test ( never carried out) Blow system activation can be tested over junction box.
