10. CORE activities in Central Asia Since 2002, CORE has undertaken projects in all the Central Asian states except Turkmenistan and has engaged in co-operation with Central Asia experts. CORE’s most prominent project in Central Asia involves mediating in a peacebuilding dialogue between moderate Islamists and secular forces.
