NIELS BOHR COLE TODD AND ZACH SHEEHAN
2
WHAT, WHERE, WHY Niels Bohr announced the theory of electron placement in 1913, while studying at Cambridge.
3
WHY WAS THE BOHRS THEORY IMPORTANT? Bohr’s model opened the door for a greater understanding of chemistry. also opened the door to the study of quantum mechanics. His studies gave us a better understanding of how electrons move with the atom. His theory also explains that the electron orbiting around the nucleus can exist only in certain energy states. It shows us that electrons can only jump from one state to another if accompanied by the emission or absorption of a quantum of radiation

FACTS Niels was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on October 7 1885. Died on November, 18 1962 Went to college straight out of grammar school Was head of the Cambridge science department for 42 years!!
