Sexual Exploitation of children and young people under 18 involves exploitative situations, contexts and relationships where young people (or a third person or persons) receive ‘something’ (e.g. food, accommodation, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, affection, gifts, money) as a result of them performing, and/or another or others performing on them, sexual activities. Child Sexual Exploitation can occur through the use of technology without the child’s immediate recognition for example being persuaded to post sexual images on the internet or mobile phones without immediate payment or gain. The definition used by the Government in it’s guidance in England What is CSE?

HOW HAVE WE RAISED AWARENESS OF CSE? Specialist training for all frontline staff Facilitated e-learning for parents “Risking it All” theatre presentation Year 9 and Year 10 pupils, plus children in care & carers Z card giving early indicators, signs and symptoms of CSE to staff Targeted campaigns: licensed premises, taxi drivers, care homes Quarterly reporting to the LSCB from partners on CSE related activity Involving Local Councillors through Scrutiny/presentations
