Second Benchmark Collection Dates: Tuesday, January 20 th to Friday, January 30 th Rate / Verify Dates: Monday, February 2 nd to Friday, February 13 th Due at Bilingual Department: Monday, February 16 th

Second Benchmark TWO Writing Samples Type 6: Academic writing from science, mathematics or social studies AND Type 4: Reflective Writing OR Type 5: Expository or extended writing on a topic from language arts

Second Benchmark Proficiency Level Descriptors One PLD rubric per writing sample Highlight descriptors as it relates to each student based on his/her writing samples Determine proficiency rating based on rating with the most highlighted descriptors TELPAS Benchmark materials will be delivered to each campus

Other Information New online LPAC process – Project ELL- Feb. 12, 2015- Training for VPs and aides Lap tops for ESL/Bil aides with Woodcock- Munoz –first come…checkout Mid year LPAC Training- accommodations Get them to pass STAAR first, don’t worry about giving accommodations.

Funds for Schools $ 5,000 for each Elementary $ 1, 500 for Secondary * each secondary campus will get 5 classroom computers * computers, licenses, Spanish materials NO non-instructional materials Each campus will come check in and pick up their materials Email purchasing plans to Ms. Farias and Ms. Speer no later than Jan. 27 th. If we do not have your plan by the 27 th, your campus loses the money. Once we approve plans you can send us your requisitions for PO by Feb. 6 th.

Serving ELLs Check grades every 3 weeks-progress reports Pull out if necessary Check other core classes, collaborate with teachers Get them in tutoring Call parents Friday office day???? 504, Sp. Ed, RTI, Dyslexia Feria Mundial- Friday, May 1, 2015 (5-7 pm)
