What is America’s relationship with the rest of the world? Isolationism: Having little to do with the affairs of other countries. Reasons: To avoid wars and spend time and money only on the U. S.

What is America’s relationship with the rest of the world? Expansionism: Expanding your nations boundaries. Reasons: To gain more living space, natural resources, become more powerful and fulfill “Manifest Destiny”. Belief you have a God-given duty to spread democracy and religion.

Japan agreed to trade with U.S. Why was it important? America now has greater involvement in Asia. Opening Trade with Japan
