1. Design & Manufacture (Craft & Design)  What is Design & Manufacture?  In the Curriculum for Excellence Design & Manufacture is the new title for what used to be known as CRAFT & DESIGN.

Design & Manufacture (Craft & Design)  What do I do in Design & Manufacture?  You will learn about things that influence the designs of products and artefacts.  You will learn about materials and their properties.  You will learn about how things are made.  You will develop practical skills working with different materials.  You will make models and projects that will be solutions to design problems.

Design & Manufacture (Craft & Design)  What will I learn?  You will gain knowledge about the important factors that influence design.  You will learn how to use the Design Process to solve problems.  You will learn how to create a Design Folio.  You will learn about choosing the best material for a product.  You will improve on the practical skills developed in S1.  You will learn how to make models and products.  You will learn how to plan and prepare.

4. Design & Manufacture  What is the route of progression for Design & Manufacture?  Under the Curriculum for Excellence, Design & Manufacture is also the new title for PRODUCT DESIGN.  Design & Manufacture can be offered at Intermediate 2, Higher and Advanced Higher.  Design & Manufacture will be a good qualification for further study at College or University courses in Design, Product Design and Engineering.
