MLS Goals Develop a capability that will ensure International Military Student (IMS) have a positive experience alongside their US-counterpart Develop selected content from the International Military Student Pre-Departure Briefing (IMSPDB) into multiple learning format to support individual learning approaches (i.e., e-book, e-learning, mobile application, and video) 3

MLS Objectives Identify the best methods for providing distance education to international military students. Evaluate the effectiveness of having multiple learning formats to support Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCETP) requirements. 4

Learning Content Objectives Ensure the courses are developed according to the optimum format (i.e., e-book, e-learning, mobile application, and video) to meet the learning objectives Identify delivery formats to support traditional and non- traditional training approaches in order to support user preferences 5

Learning Formats Each learning format contains: Multichannel Learning System (MLS) Project Introduction IMSPDB Content American and Military Cultures Introduction Culture Individualism Punctuality Informality Egalitarianism Short-term Mentality Daily Life in America 6

MLS Project Introduction The Multichannel Learning System (MLS) Project is focused on identifying the best methods for providing distance education for international military students preparing for a resident training experience in the United States. In meeting this objective, content from the International Military Student Pre- Departure Briefing (IMSPDB) will be developed into multiple formats to support individual learning approaches (i.e., e-pub, mobile app, video, and web-based). The goal of the MLS Project is to: (1)Develop a capability that ensure international students have a positive experience along with the US counterparts. (2)identify the best methods for providing distance education for international military students, and (3)evaluate the effectiveness of having multiple learning formats to support Security Cooperation Education and Training Program (SCETP) requirements. 7

Conclusion Only course material related to Culture, Individualism, and Punctuality is testable Each participant is asked to evaluate two different learning formats It should take approximately 18 minutes Volunteers should be encouraged to evaluate all aspects of the material (i.e., hyperlinks, start/stop function, non- testable material, etc.) 14
