2. The Recess Problem

3.  At Franklin Elementary, recesses were getting out of hand. Their basketball court was torn down because the school had no money. There were lots of fights on the playground. They couldn’t agree on rules for most of the games played outside. People could have gotten in really big trouble.

4.  They let the children decide on the rules for the most popular games in the schoolyard like kickball and basketball. They eventually designated some lottery money and were able to build a new basketball court.

5.  The problem would have gotten so out of hand if the problem solving team hadn’t worked out this problem, it might have been absolute chaos! The kids at the school came back to living their normal lives.
