4.  A search engine is a program that finds websites and web pages. It accesses a database of indexed websites that can be searched using a keyword.  The index is built by regularly scanning for new websites and accepting submissions from website authors.

5.  A chat provides a real time conversation with one person or with hundreds of people.  People meet for a chat in a chat room (or chat channel).  A chat room is a virtual room usually on a particular topic where people talk in groups or privately.

6.  A newsgroup is an online area in which users conduct discussions on a particular topic.  People read messages and join in discussions by sending or posting messages.  The original collection of newsgroups is called the Usenet (Users’ network).  Newsgroups are read each day by people from all over the world and provide a large diversity ofopinion and knowledge.
