3. Cortes the Conquistador I am Hernando Cortes, the great Spanish Conquistador.

4. “There was no gold in Cuba so I got together men and supplies and set off to explore the Yucatan.”

5. “This is the route that we decide to take. The entire voyage took a total of 26 years!”

6. We came to many villages and befriended the natives.

7. The natives complained of their Aztec rulers and the payments of tributes. I decided that this was my opportunity to conquer the region.

9. My native land, Spain, made me a national hero and gave me great riches. To this day I am thought of as a great hero.
