2. Background
Hernan Cortés was a Spanish explore who is famous mainly for his march across Mexico and his conquering of the Aztec Empire He was born in 1485 in the city of Medellin in modern day Extremadura Spain .Cortes died in Before he was an explorer he studied law, but soon gave that up to seek his fortune in the new world, He was an upper class family, though his parents weren’t wealthy . He was some what sickly as a child, and the family's only son.

3. Impact
Positive He built Mexico city on the Atzec ruins and brought many Europeans over to live there. It soon became the most important Europeans city in North America,. Because of the jewels ands gold. Negative Cortes used the information he gathered to his advantage. He convinced the native tribes to fight with him against the Aztecs. He took over the whole nation and wiped them out then he took over and build Mexico city.

5. Dates of Exploration (1500) Hernan set sail for Spain.
(1504) Hernan boarded a ship commanded by Alonso Quinter departing for the west.
(1511) Hernan goes to the expedition of Cuba.
(1514) Hernan becomes a rancher in Cuba.
(1519) February 19 sets sail for Mexico
(1519) November Cortes and his men reached the Aztec capital and met Montezuma.

6. Routes
Cortes left for Spain in search to conquer the new world. But soon after they had found out that they were not in Spain they landed in Santo Dimingo, Hispania.
