C&T supports government transformations that require cross-agency collaboration and deployment of information technology. Working with industry and government, the SIG develops knowledge based work products and establishes interactive forums to address issues, disseminate best practices, and measure outcomes. C&T is the home for emerging issues, innovative technologies, and new ideas. 1.Best Practice Study – Time for a new one - identify, engage, and lead 2.Applied Innovation – The real impact of innovative technologies 3.Financial Management - Improper payments – stop them now. Grants – what can we do to improve the process? Sustainable Financial Management 4.Information Sharing – The business of National Standards, Emergency Preparedness and strategies for information sharing to protect national security Committees under consideration 1.Health IT – Best practices in Health IT information sharing 2.IV&V - Educate government on the benefits of independent verification and validation (IV&V) in their IT programs

Advancing Government through Collaboration, Education and Action Current SIG Activities & Opportunities for Engagement Thought leadership Developed paper on Reducing Improper Payments, delivered pilot project for Rules Engine, responded to Treasury Requests for assistance in creation of “Common Business Language” to facilitate electronic invoicing Financial Management Sustainment – Next steps, Financial Management in the Cloud & looking to map agency through FM best practices steps Valuable partnerships with government Chaired panel on NIEM/Open Government at NIEM National training event in Aug Co sponsored GSA Challenges wiki and panel/workshop in October, next steps engaging in Discovery Management Zone ACT-IAC community visibility 75 government, press, and 25 industry participated in Oct 5 th panel and workshop on practical guides to implement Challenges. Fierce Government IT and FCW covered ACT-IAC’s leadership role in facilitating challenges Social media record retention panel in April drew 120 with 60 government attendees, and was covered in FCW, FCW Daily, Fierce Government IT, Washington Technology, NARA Records Express at blogs.archives.com, and Records Managers ListServe Work hard, have fun 4
