Substantial Similarities: ◦ Same structure in sampling ◦ Similar user interfaces ◦ Store waveform to memory ◦ Display Controller/ Driver ◦ Utilize Microcomputer, RAM and ROM Distinct Differences: ◦ Analog to Digital conversion through ADC channel on the MCU ◦ Display via VGA output and controlled by FPGA ◦ Playback the stored waveforms
6
Substantial Similarities: ◦ Similar trigger methodology with slope detector ◦ Same sampling and comparison process Distinct Differences: ◦ 3-points detection algorithm (in MCU) ◦ Dynamic trigger setting available
7
Substantial Similarities: ◦ Input sampling with A/D converter ◦ Sampled data will be stored in to memory waiting for processing ◦ Reconstruct signal for display Distinct Differences: o Use TIMER delay to plot x-axis o Digital reconstruction via FPGA, no D/A converter needed

Yes because… ◦ The product is already in the market and some functions are literally the same. ◦ Same tasks are performed in substantially the same way (i.e. A/D conversion, user interface…) No because… ◦ Different way to achieve some tasks (i.e. Input attenuation, display control and triggering algorithm).
