The problems with petrol Petrol is a finite resource, because crude oil supplies are limited Won’t last more than a 100 years Crude oil is used for more things than petrol we use them for chemical feedstocks (starting materials) for the petrochemicals industry Uses include detergents, synthetic materials and pharmaceuticals

The problems with petrol As we use up the supplies, oil products may be become too valuable to burn in car engines Pollution, petrol produces carbon dioxide when it burns – major contribution to the greenhouse effect Real need to improve the performance of petrol engines so the petrol is burnt as cleanly and efficiently as possible and find fuels to replace petrol in the future
