Signing In and Out Students arriving with a white corridor pass should time stamp the top side of the pass upon arrival and the flip side upon departure. When a library aide is working at the doorkeeper’s desk, the library aide is in charge of operating the time stamper. Students using an agenda book as a pass will need to time stamp the agenda in an adequate way to indicate arrival and departure times.

Checking out materials You need your ID barcode to check out materials. See Mrs. Hammond for occasional and very limited exceptions to this policy. Most books are due in 15 days. These books have an overdue fine of $.05 per day. Reference and overnight reserve books are due by 8:15 the next school day. The fine for late returns of reference and reserve books is $.20 per day. Magazines have a 2 day checkout. Weekends and holidays count in the 2 day calculation. The overdue fine for late magazines is $.05 per day.

How to decipher overdue/fine notices Smith, BobType: Seventh Grade Page 1 Overdue and Fine Notice 09/30/2006 Patron #: 121231234 Material #TitleAuthor Call # Price Date out Date due __________________________________________________________________ 2837 School days Terk, Marv 423.1 Ter 29.99 09/03/2006 09/04/2006 Your outstanding fines balance: 0.05 This means: 1.The book School Days is overdue. The price listed is what must be paid if the book is lost. The amount of the overdue fine on School Days is not shown, but Bob knows the fine for an overnight book is 20 cents for each day it is overdue. He should return the book as soon as possible even if he cannot pay the fine immediately. 2.Bob owes 5 cents on another book that he returned late. He has not paid the fine yet, so his fines balance is “outstanding”. If he wants to know the title of the book with the outstanding fine, he may ask the librarian for that information.

Expectations Computer use must be curriculum related and is governed by the Acceptable Use Policy. Thank you for entering quietly by the proper door and respecting the rights of others who are in the library. When two classes are using the library simultaneously, everyone appreciates your extra efforts to be quiet and courteous.
10
Computer Printer The library has a black and white laser printer. Please ask permission to print. Be environmentally friendly. Use cut-and-paste to reduce ink and paper use. Notice which printer is designated to do your printing and learn how to change to another printer when necessary.
11
When in doubt... Ask! Be aware of copyright and avoid plagiarism in your use of print and nonprint materials. Academic dishonesty is a serious issue.
