6. Why am I here? BA in Economics Management- Ohio Wesleyan University- 1984 Concentrations in History and English 2 years a Marketing Assistant for Manufacturing Company- liaison between Engineering and Sales & Marketing divisions. 13 years- Commercial Photographer- extensive international and domestic travel Masters of Arts in Teaching Program at MSU N-8 certified, Social Studies certified Teaching- 5 th grade at Calvin Coolidge School 8 th grade Social Studies at Eisenhower Camp Counselor - Canoe guide - Coach

7. Why are we doing this? District and State- -to teach students American History, develop citizenship, develop an understanding of how their government works and their role in it.

8. Why are we (really) here?  Prepare them for high school and beyond -Identify and organize important information -Recognize what works best for them -Expose them to a variety of test and learning situations -Prepare them to work with others

9. Why are we (really) here? Cont ’ d  Prepare them to make decisions of real importance…. They will be voting and driving in 3-4 years!
