Early Technology Technology has always been used as a tool in the language arts curriculum. Early technology that was readily available to consumers was the television.

Computers and the Internet With schools adding computers and the internet to classrooms, technology has been directly integrated into the curriculum. The Information Super Highway The internet has brought a world of endless possibilities into the learning environment. Search Engines Yahooligans: a directory and a web guide designed for children. Sites are appropriate for ages 7 to 12. Ask Jeeves for Kids: a search engine and directory based on natural language. You just type in a question, and it finds the best site to match your question. Searchopolis: a directory and search engine organized for students in the elementary grades, middle grades, and high school.

Benefits Technology has brought the educational community resources and opportunities that we have never had before. Educators and students all benefit from this technology. –Pre school aged children are better prepared as they enter school. –School aged children have access to information that helps reinforce skills.
