It has a long and interesting history. Bryansk is often called as a city of partisan glory. A total of 139 partisan detachments, united in 27 brigades took part in the struggle against the fascist invaders. 7. Kurgan of Immortality It is a majestic 12 metre monument, erected in honor of the soldiers, died during the Great Patriotic War. It was set on the 11th of May, 1976 in the park of culture and entertainment "Solovji". In the basis of the Kurgan there is the gun symbol with a capsule, which contains the massage to descendants of the inhabitants of Bryansk in 2017. The mound of crowns is 18 metre concrete pylon in the form of a five-pointed star. It is one of the most remarkable monuments of our city. This monument is a symbol of legendary land of military and partisan glory, devoted to our older generations, of eternal memory and glory to those, who defended the honor and independence of our Motherland with weapon in their hands.

8. The Monument to Warriors-Drivers During the Great Patriotic War they transported millions of tones of different freights. In honor of these people there was erected a monument to the Soviet Drivers deceased during the war. It was open on the 12th of September, 1968 on the eve of celebration of the liberation of our lands from the Fascists' occupation. The Bryansk motor transportation organization gave a sum of money to pay for the setting of the monument. The place for a monument was not ward by chance. That was the road where the Soviet soldiers-liberators were coming to Bryansk.

9. The monument “Bryansk - City of Military Glory“ On the 25th of March, 2010 was a remarkable date for our city. The President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev as signed the rank "the city of military Glory" to Bryansk. This award became a well-deserved assessment of the merits of all generations of our citizens who had given their lives for freedom and independence of our Motherland. It was decided to place the monument in front of the Kurgan of Immortality. To the deceased war heroes.

10. The Monument to a Soviet Soldier The Monument to a Soviet Soldier has erected in Bezhitsky district in Bryansk sinec 1995. The monument is a tribute to the memory of the victims of the Great Patriotic War, set by the Bryansk steel workers.

11. Partisan Square Partisan Square - is a monument of military and partisan glory situated in Partisan Square. The eternal fire was kindled there on the 17th of September, 1966. There is a 17 metre pylon with the figures of the Soviet soldiers and Bryansk partisans by sides. On the pedestal of the monument there inscribed words taken from A.Safronov “Partisan song”, which is the anthem of our region nowadays.

12. The Monument to Artillery Men It is a monument erected in honor of courageous soldiers of the 11 Guard Army.

13. The Monument to Heroes Komsomol -Members Monument to the three heroes of the Soviet Union: Vladimir Ryaboc, Valentina Safronova and Igor Kustov. The monument was set in the Fokinsky district in 1970. Valentina Safronova was an organizer of partisans fight in Bryansk. Vladimir Ryaboc was a commander of a partisan group. Igor Kustov was a fighter-pilot.

14. The Monument to Soviet Hero D.N.Medvedev In 1941 D.N.Medvedev was at the head of a special purpose detachment. From June 1942 till February 1944 he was a commander of a partisan special purpose detachment. On the 5 of November 1944 he was awarded with a rank of the Soviet Hero.

15. The Monument to Soviet Pilots The monument to Soviet pilots – is set in honour of heroic pilots who defended the sky over the city. You can see it in the north part of the city.

16. The Monument to Liberators Tank Drivers The monument was set in Fokinskey district, in honour of the tank drivers who fought for freedom of our Motherland.

17. The Monument to the Hero of the Soviet Union P.M.Kamozin P.M.Kamozin was a brave air pilot. He was awarded with the title “The hero of the Soviet Union”twice. He was a famous fighter-pilot. He made 750 fighting flights. The school №11 in Bryansk was named after him.

18. The Monument to “Forest Sheds” The monument is made in the form of pylon. It was set in honour of 17000 Bryansk citizens who were executed by fascist invaders in 1941-1942.

19. The Monument to A.E.Vinogradov A.E.Vinogradov was a commander of the famous brigade in Bryansk forests. He was awarded with the “Order of Red Banner”.

20. The Monument to A. A. Morozov A.A.Morozov was a famous constructor. He created the famous tank T-34. He was awarded with the title “The Hero of Social Labour” twice. The monument was set in Bezickij district in Maiskiy park in 1982.

21. Coming nearer to Bryansk you can see the memorial complex of the “Partisanskay polyana”. The largest part of the complex is a memorial wall with the names of partisans and underground fighters who died defending their Motherland. There are many flowers near the eternal flame. The most famous attraction for people - is the exhibition of military equipment. One of the paths leads to the partisan dug-outs. Near the dug-outs there is the Museum of Partisan Glory. In May 1984 a diorama “The Exposition of Blue Bridge” opened in the Museum of the History of the partisan movement on the complex memorial site of “Partisanskay polyana”. 22. The Memorial Sign “Bryansk – City of Military Glory” The memorial sign “Bryansk – City of Military Glory” is set on the highway Moskva-Kiev near the Bryansk city.

Obelisks, honor rolls, memorable symbols Today everything in Bryansk reminds us the difficult years of the Great Patriotic War: the names of the squares and streets, the museum expositions and the numerous obelisks, memorable signs and symbols. The names of the heroes are immortalized and kept in our memory.
