Question # 1 By Rahul Goel & Tanvir Niaz

Our Question A mole of Big Macs Stacked up would reach from the Earth to the Moon and back how many times?

Measurements A Big Mac has a height of 5 cm ( 2 inches)
The distance from the centre of the Earth to the Moon is 384, 403 km Radius of Earth is km Radius of Moon is km Avogadro’s formula is x 1023

Calculations Distance from surface of Earth to surface of Moon = 384, 403 – – = km km x = 37 628 750 000 cm Distance from the Earth to the Moon and back is cm x 2 = cm One mole of Big Macs = 5 x (6.022 x 1023 ) = × 1024 We know the units are the same (centimeters), so now divide × 1024 cm by cm to find the answer × 1024 cm / cm = 4 × 1013

Conclusion Therefore, a mole of Big Macs can be stacked forty trillion (40, 000, 000, 000, 000) times from the Earth to the Moon and back. THAT IS A LOT!
