ME AND MY ELMER(S) I have had a couple of “Elmers” in my lifetime, the first (Gary Carlson) in about 1970 when I became a novice (as WNØGVT). The second major “Elmer” encouraged me to return to ham radio in 2010. (as KDØJOA [Technician]). He pushed me to General Class just four months later (WØHHF) followed by Extra Class this year. This “Elmer” has gone “above and beyond” in helping both new and seasoned Hams and continues to do so today. He has been a tremendous asset to the WØMG club, always ready to give a hand in problem solving, giving interesting presentations, taking a leading role in field day activities, and is a true mentor and friend; always willing to take on new challenges. Who knows who this person is?
