THE CORE STRUCTURE Why is it important to repeat your key messages three times this way? (Introduction, body, conclusion) Audience will probably only remember about 20% of what you say Using CORE STRUCTURE helps ensure that they remember this 20% that you want them to It is easier to follow and allows audience to re-enter if they lose their concentration

MOVING FROM ONE PART TO THE OTHER Guide the audience as if on a journey Make sure they know when one section finishes and the other begins E.g. So I’ve finished explaining the benefits of Product X. Now I’d like to explore how it could be introduced into your company.

CONCLUDING YOUR PRESENTATION Announce the conclusion “Well, I’ve come to the end of my presentation.” Recap the key messages “So, to recap, this morning I’ve told you about the background to our research, and I’ve also outlined our approach” Call for action “So that is the end of my presentation and the next thing you need to do is put the plan into action.”

Come full circle - refer back to the beginning “ At the beginning of the presentation, I explained... I hope you can now see how we can move forward....” Thank the audience and ask for questions “Thank you for listening /taking part.” “I’d be happy to take your questions now”
