April 1, 2015 Mrs. Natalie Green Trimble County High School Science Department

2nd – Chemistry  Starter: turn in hmwk; get out calculator,  Chemistry Questions  Learning check  Continue new unit: The Mole  Empirical Formula calculations  10-3 practice problems – new groups!  Friday: Learning check #2

Chem questions!  What would be measured in units of amu?  The mass of an atom, molecule or formula unit.  What would be measured in grams?  The mass of a mole…or many moles!  What the heck is a formula unit?  It’s not a unit of measure…it is the smallest part of an ionic compound. Think of it like a molecule, even though it is not covalent.

3rd & 4th – Physical Science  Bell Ringer: Calculate the velocity and acceleration of a 20 kg medicine ball traveling 50 m in 5 seconds before coming to a complete stop.  Absent Monday - Pass back graded work, Make a formula card  Get out study guide and formula card, look over study guide for a few minutes before test  Test over Chapter 6  After the test, pick up the Reinforcement WKT and begin working on it, information is in Chapter 16, pg.

5th – Chemistry  Starter: Turn in Homework (10.2 R/R), get out calculator  Pass back graded work  Chemistry Questions  Learning check  Continue new unit: The Mole  Empirical Formula calculations  10-3 practice problems – new groups!  Friday: Learning check #2

6th - Forensics  Bell Ringer: No Bell Ringers this week  Pass back graded work  CSI  Tomorrow: Continue Blood Spatter Lab
