CARS Collision Repair Project – Phase II A presentation to the Canadian Collision Industry Forum January 15, 2005 Toronto, Ontario

Overview The CARS Collision Repair Project Phase II is intended to facilitate the design, development and delivery of a new training curricula for the industry: by combining the best elements of existing training with new and innovative approaches to both training design and delivery; and, by formulating strategic and collaborative partnerships to provide industry with technical and non-technical training that is: convenient; cost-effective; and, of unparalleled high quality.

Our game plan The objective of the CARS Collision Repair Project – Phase II is to create access to high quality training for all industry participants when and where it’s needed. In partnership with suppliers and training organizations, CARS will identify and acquire the best of existing training materials for adaptation to IDL. We will build a repertoire of 120 technical/non-technical IDL courses (French/English) Establish a minimum of 200 new receive sites

Current status An Advisory Committee of key industry stakeholders is in place and committed to the project. The Curriculum Development team is in place. Strategic partnerships are being developed with suppliers and training organizations. Industry support is encouraging.

Our industry partners CARS has forged strategic partnerships with key industry organizations including: I-CAR 3M CAR-O-LINER BASF Sherwin-Williams CARS continues to seek an expanded partnership

Working Group: December 15, 2004 A review of 18 proposed training courses from I-CAR, 3M and CAR-O-LINER. Adaptations of existing training Designed to meet identified industry training needs.
