Idea #1 Lever. Heavy one side light other. Ideas Idea #2 Light Sensor. Sorted by sensor values. Idea #4 Shoot it. Heavy ones go farther than light. Idea #3 Bounce Test. Calculate the bounce of each.
4
This system will allow for us to have the marbles roll down a ramp and get released one at a time to go through other parts of the marble sorter. Physical Idea and Concept Sketch
5
This idea allows us to separate the metal ball from the rest, the heavy ball will fall into a cup while the other lighter ball will travel down the ramp. Physical Idea and Concept Sketch
6
This solution allows us to have the plastic ball to be separated from the metal and wood, but after testing we found that it is inefficient and does not always work. Physical Idea and Concept Sketch

8
Our final design includes a lever and a light sensor. The lever will sort out the heavy marbles and the light sensor will sort the plastic marble from the wooden ball. Final Design Solution
9
We had to modify our original teeder todder (idea 1) to make it more stable in order to do this we added an additional leg on the other side of it and fastened it to the base of our project. Design Modification
10
Our final design starts with a lever that separates the heavy marbles from the little ones. Then a light sensor sorts the dark lite marbles from the light lite marbles. Final Design

This project was an interesting one. The most difficult part of the project would be the time constraint. It was a short amount of time to design, build and test a solution in 5 days. What we ended up having to do was a divide and conquer approach. One person builds, one draws, on does the presentation. That worked out well. Reflection
