36. If I could change something about the board, it would be: Provide food at every meeting or a light snack. More information about the genuine issues facing the school. I feel the principal’s presentation and the new teacher presentation address only the successes without any time given to discussing challenges. For instance, I realize that individual discipline issues are not a board topic, however discussion of discipline and related policies are within board responsibility. I have occasionally been asked by parents about a particular event that happened at the school. I have been embarrassed that I have no clue about what it is that happened. Sometimes questions come up and there is not enough info or time to answer adequately. Either provide info by email or add it as an agenda item, new business at the next meeting. Do not just drop it. More willingness for individuals on the board to actively participate at school events. I would like to see annual surveys of the parents – with a summary report along with an action plan to respond to recurring issues. Thanks. Nothing this year. Nothing The Chairs – they are too hard for my bottom half.

37 What I appreciate about the board is: The board is very open to ideas and Mark is gifted at re-directing conversation on get back on track without devaluing the de- railer. Attention to detail. The collegial spirit. Professional conduct. Open discussion even when there is disagreement. Learn from new points of view. Mark’s openness and leadership. The members remain respectful even when there are disagreements. I appreciate the dedication and loyalty of the members along with the wide array of expertise and knowledge they bring to the table. We seem to enjoy each others company which creates an open environment for decision making. All members are encouraged to share their views and conflicting opinions are treated with respect. Very supportive, involved, wise.
