31 Ontario R&D incentives at a glance SUPPORT PROGRAMS/ INCENTIVES CRITERIAHOW MUCH Ontario Business Research Institute Tax Credit (OBRITC) Must incur qualified expenditures in respect of scientific research and experimental development (SR&ED) under an eligible contract with an eligible research institute (ERI) 20% refundable tax credit for SR&ED expenditures incurred in Ontario under an eligible contract with an ERI. The maximum amount a corporation can claim is $4 million Ontario Innovation Tax Credit Must carry on eligible SR&ED in Ontario 10% refundable tax credit for qualifying. Can be combined with OBRITC (above) for a total of 30% Ontario Research and Development Tax Credit Must carry on eligible SR&ED in Ontario A non-refundable 4.5% tax credit that may be used to reduce corporate income tax payable, retroactively applied or carried forward 31 Welcome to the Ontario Technology Corridor
