Introduction This presentation aims to provide guidelines on how to eat a balanced diet, as well as evaluating the healthiness of the food of the Western Food Store in our school. Although a balanced diet is essential for people at a growing age, most teenagers do not actually care about having a balanced diet.
3
Target Target: Students in Sport CCAs Examples include: Track and Field, Cross Country, Gymnastics, Canoeing, Water Polo, Basketball Aim: Provide them with enough calories and proteins Needs for a meal : 220g carbohydrates 220g proteins 110g fats
4
Canteen Food Stall We have decided to choose the Western Stall in our canteen for our analysis of foods. The table on the next slide shows the nutritional value of some foods that are sold in the canteen stall.

Analysis Clearly, this is not enough to meet the needs of the high energy consumption sportsmen in our schools, as it is lacking in protein, fats and carbohydrates. Thus, we have resolved to create our own meal, to meet the optimum amount of nutrients that they need.
7
Designated Meal We have came up with a meal that has higher nutritional value. It consists of Murtabak with Sardine, Sweet and Sour Commercial sauce, and 2 servings of spring chicken in BBQ.

Designated Meal Meal fits the requirement of having carbohydrates and fats Although lacking a little in protein Still much more nutritional value than the foods in the Western stall
10
Cost of Meal Possible Cost of Murtabak with Sardine: $2 Sweet and Sour Commercial sauce: $0.50 2 servings of spring chicken in BBQ: $2.50 The possible cost of the meal that we have created will cost around 4 to 5 dollars. It may seem expensive, but weighing the pros and cons, the meal that we have created is definitely much more desirable even though the cost is slightly higher.
11
Benefits Most sportsmen might cite the problem of high cost, however it is actually more economical to buy this meal than buying multiple servings just to meet the optimum energy intake for sportsmen. Furthermore, if compared to other places such as in food courts, the price is actually rather effective.
12
Benefits Even if the student is not a sportsman, it can also help the student in more ways than one. For example, lack of nutrients in food will cause one to be weaker, and therefore more prone to sicknesses. It may also help in concentrating and focusing during lessons, due to sufficient intake of nutrients.
13
Conclusion The Western Store’s food does not serve very nutritious food, and therefore eating at these store may not be ideal for sportsmen. However, it is still possible for sportsmen to have their ideal meal but they may have to fork out a bit more money.
