2. Overview Electrical engineering is the study of electricity and electrical components. It is a large field with so many subfields only a few will be listed on the next page. It is probably one of the most important engineering fields, EVER!

3. Sub-fields Power: the development of power lines and grids are in this category Electronics: Iphone, TV, and radio were mainly created in this category Telecommunications: satellite, telephones, and the internet are major inventions in this category. Here are but a few of the sub-fields. These are probably the most important.

4. Electronic engineering The sub-field I chose was the field of electronic engineering. The projector used to display this power point is made with parts made by an electronic engineer. Everything electronic involved at least one electronic engineer.

5. The OLED display The Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display is the future in graphical displaying devices. It is created with organic components which emit light when an electric current is run through them. Usually it always has at least one transparent electrode so the screen is see through.

OLED Pros Higher contrast Bends but retains contrast and view ability Retains color at 90 degree angle Can be sewn to clothing When showing black screens uses ½ the power of an led or liquid crystal display Cons Not very shock resistant Very expensive and hard to make Colors fade twice as fast as LED’s and liquid crystal When showing white screens uses three times as much power Blue fades first causing strange color shifts

7. Conclusion The electrical engineering field is an awesome topic which allows this presentation to be viewed. This field will never cease to amaze us with new displays and new ways of communication. Maybe soon the hologram will be unveiled…
