2 Clothing Moccasins boys and girls wore them. Boys: Feathered head gear, fringe deer shirt skins, leather or wool bibs, kilts, and leggings. Girls: wraparound skirts with shorter leggings. often wore a poncho type tunic called an overdress.

3 The Tuscarora’s main diet was beans, corn, and squash. They also ate deer, turkey, muskrat, beavers, salmon, trout, perch, bass, berries, nuts, and greens. Food, Diet, and Clothing.

4 Language The Tuscarora language is very complex. It also has many sounds and doesn’t sound like what it looks like. Today this is a very endangered language some of the people are trying to keep it around. warè:reháha:th uhchírę' kę:chęh rá'kwihs á:kweh

5 Religion & Ceremonies Their religion is mostly based on beliefs. The most important belief is the Great Spirit, which is responsible for creating living things and good forces in nature. Farming, curing illnesses, and Thanksgiving is concerned with the tribal affairs. Their six ceremonies were Maple, Planting, Strawberries, Green Maze, Harvest, and winter of New Years.

6 Famous Leader Hiawatha was one of the famous leaders. He was a good peace maker, a leader, and a spiritual guide. He was a skilled positive plan maker. Hiawatha made five tribes come together and joined the Iroquois confederacy.

7 Home Life, Family Structure, and Marriage Children usually played around the house, gathered food, and went too school. The kids usually had a lot more chore time then play time. They also had toys and games. examples: lacrosse and this one game where they had to throw a dart through a moving hoop.
