The Cretaceous Period was from 146 million years ago to 65 million years ago http://science.discovery.com/videos/hot- videos-mammals-vs-dinos/
3
There are many types of plants that where alive back then, some of them were ferns, cycads, and conifers.
4
Fern became the flowering plants but they flourished in the hot and wet environment It served as a food supply to many animals
5
o Cycads are seed plants typically characterized by a stout and woody(ligneous) trunk with a crown of large, hard and stiff, evergreen leaves.
6
Conifers were very abundant in the Cretaceous Period They have survived through the whole time Some conifers include Christmas Trees, Red Woods, and Great Sequoia.
7
There are many animals that lived back then but three that we think are awesome are Triceratops, king of the plants, Megaladon, king of the seas, and Spinosaurus, king of the Land.
8
A full grown Triceratops could reach the weight of 6 tons The horns of a triceratops could reach the length of three feet long
9
Megaladon’s teeth could reach 7 Inches long They could reach 60 feet long
10
The Spinosaurus is the largest carnivore dinosaur to walk the Earth They had Teeth that grew up to 7 inches
11
The Cretaceous period started because Pangaea broke up and volcanoes erupted. The Cretaceous period ended when a meteor hit Earth
12
There is a theory that the dinosaurs all died because of a meteor
13
