Concerns – Current LID Services Student Numbers are Growing: As of November 2011, there were 47 Move-ins to FAC (compared to June 2011 projections) Approximately 10 more move-ins after Winter Break Structure of Services: Diverse Student Needs – Instructional Medical Behavioral Staff: Challenging Instructional Delivery – varying levels of student learning Unique Teaching Strategies / Unique Training Needs

RRISD LID Staff Survey -- sent out to approximately 270 people. We received 164 responses! Suggestions and Ideas for programming LID Classrooms for the 2012 – 2013 School Year More Staff Cluster sites for students with similar needs Cap the number of students in each class Bring back Resource Plus SLC for 3 rd, 4 th and 5 th Grade Encore available off campus Eliminate Review 360 Provide additional training for teacher and para-educators Bilingual FAC to be on a bilingual campus

In ALL settings supporting LID students, staff will work to increase independence in the following areas: Social Skills Self Advocacy Pre – Vocational Skills Functional Routines Communication Community Integration Round Rock ISD Proposal for Restructuring LID Services: Functional Academic Classes (FAC) - Students will have success with academic and/or elective subjects (accessing a variety of instructional settings), vocational classes that provide more intensive functional-based instruction in areas of academic, self-help, vocational, socialization and daily- community living. Instruction in FAC is aligned to STAAR-Alt Levels 2 & 3. Functional Learning Class (FLC) - Students will have success with basic life skills provided in a fully self-contained setting with provision of assistive technology, reverse inclusion, building tolerance of fine and gross motor tasks, increased environmental awareness and access to appropriate forms of communication - choice making, multi- modal, visual and/or auditory stimulation. Instruction in FLC is aligned to STAAR-Alt Level 1. Functional Communication Class (FCC) - Students will have success within a highly structured, fully-self contained classroom, built on intensive verbal behavior techniques, the development of effective communication using high rates of reinforcement, discrete trial and the implementation of a student's Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) as needed.
