THE 5 STAGES OF THE FASHION CYCLE What does the fashion cycle consist of? Introduction: it is the first stage of the fashion cycle when new fashion colors, textures, and fabrics are introduced. -The new style is worn by fashion leaders at first and then later on accepted by small groups. -Retail buyers have a limited number of new trend to see if they will sell it or not. Rise: the second stage of the fashion cycle when the consumers interest grows and the fashion trend becomes more openly accepted. -retails begin to order in quantity Peak: the third stage of the cycle where the style is at the height of popularity -consumers increase the demand for the style.

5 STAGE OF THE FC CONT. Decline: the fourth stage of the fashion cycle when the styles demand starts to decrease. -the style is seen everywhere and becomes boring to the eye of the consumers. Obsolescence: the fifth stage of the fashion cycle is when the style is rejected, not bought at any price, no longer worn and no longer produced. - the consumers have had enough of the style and find it unappealing that they no longer want to buy or have factories produce it.
