PACCS Internal Grant Review Process: Preproposal due 2 months before NIH Deadline (Stage 1)(see Deadline Table) – PowerPoint Presented by Applicant Standardized Template Provided – Feedback Provided at Time of Review (Green Light Proceed - Red Light Delay) Final Draft of Application due 1 month before NIH Deadline (Stage 2) – Nonadministrative, Scientific Review of the Main Body of the Application – Reviewed by 2-3 Peers and Written Comments Provided (“Pseudo Pink Sheet”)

Stage 1 Summary: Review of major issues (positive or negative). Intention is to create a constructive dialogue to determine whether applicant is ready for submission (in ~ two months). Discuss previous constructive feedback provided by peers and address how the PI has attempted to favorably respond. If major Gaps exist, assist in strategic planning.

Additional Details: Program will focus on review of specific NIH- Supported Awards (other agencies considered) – RO1, K-awards, R21s – Participants to Include Tenure-Eligible and Tenured Faculty – Review Board Includes all PACCS Faculty with prior acquisition of RO1, K or R21 Awards. Maintain 3 Review Cycles per year Synchronized with NIH Application Deadlines Notify Dr.s Knoell or Wewers Prior to Stage 1 Deadline if Interested in Review of Application
