“For” 1. “For” is a preposition with MANY meanings; use it when you don’t mean the number “four” or the adjective “fore.” (See extra sheet) EX: The papers are FOR the office EX: FOR your sake, I hope you’re joking EX: If you’re FOR abortion, you’re pro-choice

“Four” 2. “Four” indicates a number of units EX: I have FOUR roses for you EX: FOUR people turned in their homework

“Fore” 3. “Fore” is an adjective meaning “in or towards the front” EX: The sailor put the cargo in the FORE of the ship EX: All volunteers should step towards the FORE
