Common Instructional Framework (CIF) 5 The framework drives consistent, school-wide, instructional practices through the use of strategies to insure that every student reads, writes, thinks and talks in every class, every day.

What does this look like in the classroom? Walk into one of these classrooms and you'll see teachers talking less and students talking more. They'll be working in groups, discussing and sharing ideas, challenging each other, solving problems. In a word, learning. Teachers will be questioning, guiding, pushing students hard to think clearly and communicate effectively. 7
