How they works Tidal power involves a dam across the opening to a tidal basin. A sluice opens that allows the tide to flow into the basin. As the sea levels drop, the water moves and turns a turbine to generate electricity - Tidal Power animation

Advantages Some tidal generators can be built into the structures of existing bridges, involving virtually no problems on how it looks

Disadvantages The turbines can accidentally kill swimming sea life with there rotating blades Salt water causes corrosion in metal parts
