What do you already know about Judaism? Today we are starting our new unit on Judaism. How much do you already know? In pairs, mind map in the back of your book everything you know already about Judaism. Try to include six points.

Commitment What commitment is being shown? What does the commitment involve? Does it benefit more than one person? Is it an easy agreement to keep? What happens if the agreement is broken?

Covenant A covenant is a two sided agreement that is legally binding.

What agreements have you made? If you had to construct an envelope for yourself to show a covenant which you have made what would it contain? How does it feel to be part of this commitment? Is it easy to keep it up?

Covenant A two sided, legally binding agreement. Jews understand their relationship with God in terms of a Covenant (agreement). The Jewish people agreed to worship and obey God in order to have spiritual blessings. Write this definition in your books.
