5  God’s Word is designed specifically for the heart, because God also designed the heart.  Heb 4:12, discern thoughts of the heart  Jer 31:33 (Heb 8:10), written on the heart  Col 3:16, dwell in the heart richly  Reason for emphasizing knowing God’s word.  Matt 4:1-11, defeat Satan  2 Tim 3:16-17, equips for every good work  1 Th 4:1-2, commands to walk by  Eph 6:10-17, battle armor against sin Empowering Our Hearts

6 Cain- “you should rule over it.” Gen 4:7 When sin challenges you…  Go to God’s Word for instruction & courage.  Seek help to study the Bible.  Make temptation the trigger that “switches” your mind to thoughts of truth and prayers. …….……………………….Heb 5:12-14, Job 31:1  Don’t hide from truth…………....…… Jas 1:2-4  “I can’t help it” is whining..……....1 Cor 10:13 You Can Win Over Sin!
