BEST PRACTICES: CULLING STANDARDS 1.Less is More! In the Gradebook & on the Report Card 2.Grade Level teachers review all available standards (CC,SS,&LS) and CHERRY PICK 3.Consider CC Sub-Category headers 4.Discuss/Decide which will be on the report card and which will only be in the gradebook 5.Provide ample time for UNWRAPPING! 6.Wordsmith any standard over 65/70/75 characters 7.Choose standards that lend themselves to being easily associated to an assignment

Common Core are guidelines and should be partnered with your curriculum 1.Consider attending Pearson’s CommonCore Summit @ PSU’s 2.Reflect on today and share with other administrators 3.Draft an Implementation Plan including communication to all stakeholders, professional development & budget 4.Decide to what extent you will involve staff? 5.Cherry Pick your ELA/Math Standards. 6.Create draft of the SBRC before summer.
