THE ROTARY CLUB OF ARLINGTON “90 DAYS OF SERVICE” CAMPAIGN
2
PURPOSE “ Make Rotary Relevant.” Energize our club, mobilize our existing members and attract new members. Redefine our club as a “heavy-weight service organization” in Arlington. Motivate non-Rotarians to visit our meetings, “like” our Rotary Club of Arlington Facebook page and participate in our service projects.
3
PLANNING Created a Master Plan that benefitted 7 community organizations. Provided the Campaign schedule to the club so they could plan ahead. Selected Rotary members to easily lead each activity. Sample Campaign Schedule: Jan. 9-27: “Dress for Success” Clothing Drive: Feb. 6-13: “Toothbrush Rush” Feb. 6: “Blood Donation Day” Feb. 13-20: “Let’s CAN Hunger Food Drive”: Feb. 19: “Anti-bullying Campaign” - Webb Elementary. Feb. 26: “How to Wow the Real World” program at UTA. Mar. 1: “Keep Arlington Beautiful.” Mar. 14: “Planting Seeds of Greatness”

IMPLEMENTATION Promoted each event thru weekly announcements, emails and club newsletter. Sent press releases to local media. Encouraged using member’s offices as drop-off points. Members participated thru giving of time, money, or both. As seen in the Arlington Citizen Journal
5
RESULTS Bottom line: Ignited club energy & enthusiasm. Implemented our vision for a “service mindset.” Increased membership – our goal was +10 for year, ended at +20. Now, new members are bringing in new members!
6
ACTION STEPS: 1. Decide if right for your club and how to implement. 2. Select causes/organizations – whose members are in your club now. 3. Have fun and make a difference!
