1 Ted Vorburger (tvtv@nist.gov), Simon Frechette, Son Buitvtv@nist.gov Manufacturing Engineering Laboratory, NIST Len Slovensky Northrop Grumman Report for TC184/SC4 Meeting Bath, UK 8 July 2004 Updated for TC213 10 September 2004 Report on AP219

2 Contents: History and Status Scope Working Draft 11/19/03 EXPRESS-G ARM Next Steps and Future Work

3 History and Status Functioned as PWI 1998-2003 Have been working to harmonize with AP214 - 1999 AP224 - 2000 DMIS - 2000 Modules: 1050, 1051, et al. - 2002 AP224 – 2002-3 Dimensional Markup Language (DML) - 2002-3 14649 Inspection Model - 2004-5 Submitted for NWI Status March 2003 Approved for NWI Status June 2003 Working Draft 19 November 2003 Progress delayed during FY2004 -Funding -GDT Harmonization Restarted July 2004

4 AP219 NWI Scope: Information requirements for analyzing the data and reporting the results of dimensional inspections of solid parts or assemblies. Certain information used for administering, planning, and executing dimensional inspection as well as archiving the results is also required in the analysis activity. Dimensional inspection can occur at any stage of the life cycle of a product where checking for conformance with a design specification is required. Excluded: Dimensional inspection of liquid surfaces, the materials properties of parts, manufacturing activities, and mathematical algorithms to perform the dimensional inspection analysis.
