3. SITE SELECTION
Levee-type ponds – adequate supply of clean water, soil that holds water (clay), suitable terrain
Watershed ponds – between 5 and 25 acres of watershed needed per acre of water surface
Raceway ponds – flowing source of water
Cage sites – natural movement of new water and sufficient depth
Tank sites – access to roads, suppliers, and utilities; water source; use for discharged water
