Roots of Empathy is an international award- winning program that develops children’s social- emotional skills, promotes empathy, and reduces bullying. The program is centered around a parent and infant who visit the classroom each month (nine times) over the course of a school year. We are seeking families with an infant who will be 2-4 months old in late October for the program at our school. More information can be found at www.rootsofempathy.org. PHOTO DAY Argonne Photo Day is scheduled for Thursday, October 10th. Our professional parent-volunteer photography team will lead our picture day. What a fantastic day we all had celebrating Field Day in Hellman Hollow, thanks to all of our enthusiastic kids, staff, family, and friends! It was so wonderful to see so many families out enjoying the day. Thanks to everyone who took the time to pitch in, show up, and make this annual tradition such a success! Check out our sporty teachers in their Field Day finest…Go Argonne Wolf Pack! ARGONNE GIVING CAMPAIGN ENDS – OCT 11 Hey Argonne? Hey what? That’s right, we’ve extended the annual giving campaign for one more week to give everyone the opportunity to give what they can give and to achieve our goal of 100% participation. We saw what we can do as a community when we all pulled together for Field Day. Now let’s see what we can do when we all give what we can for the benefit of our children’s enrichment.

Fifth graders will also be receiving some instruction on climate change, and all students will focus on ecological cycles and food/nutrition. New Mural for Cabrillo Wall: Argonne parent Leon (1st grade) has graciously offered to design and paint a mural on the wall facing the veggie garden. The proposed design is to highlight animals native to Golden Gate Park.
