Davao City Diabetes is the 7th all-age leading cause of mortality in 2004-2008 in Davao City Services for diabetes largely unavailable in 2006.

The Diabetes Project Pilot project (2007-2009) 10 Barangays To increase access to multidisciplinary, integrated diabetes management. By capacity building of: – Service providers – Self-help groups – Barangay local government units

The Diabetes Project Capacity building of health and rehabilitation service providers with emphasis on preventive foot care and rehabilitation : 1.Training of primary health care professionals and community health workers 2.Skills upgrading of prosthesis and orthotics technicians 3.Development of tools for: General information Patient education Health service provision and referral
